Heartbreak in Pakistan After Cricket World Cup Loss to India

Pakistan fans were left dejected after a loss to arch-rivals India compounded their cricket T20 World Cup misery. Many have declared their campaign a lost cause after only two matches. The loss follows the major humiliation of Pakistan's defeat to the USA on Thursday.

The match was the 13th time the nuclear-armed neighbors have clashed in cricket's shortest format, with India now dominant as the victors of 10 of those face-offs. The rivalry runs so deep that India's national anthem was muted on the big screens at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The loss was a result of Pakistan's poor batting, with the team losing eight wickets for 36 runs. The top four silenced the home crowd, but the middle order collapsed horrifically. The pitch was doing nothing except occasional low bounce, and Pakistan seemed to misread it, pushing for 300 when something above 250 might have sufficed.

Fans are disappointed but not surprised, with some predicting big changes in the team. Pakistan next face Canada in New York on Thursday and then take on Ireland in Florida on Sunday. They may still advance to the Super Eight in the tournament co-hosted by the USA and West Indies, with a final slated for Barbados on June 29.

Despite the disappointment, fans acknowledge that cricket is an escape for them from their daily routine and problems. However, the team's performance has left them feeling broken-hearted and disillusioned. The future doesn't seem bright for Pakistan cricket, and fans are struggling to find comfort in the hopes of a 'next time.'
